Ritz 5'0'' medium tension mattress from Gainsborough, featuring over 1350 hand nested pocketed springs. All Gainsborough Bed products contain the original hand nested and hand sewn pocketed springs which are the key to the life of the bed. Hand nested pocketed spring units are the traditional tried and tested spring system used by few manufacturers today. This is a very labour intensive spring system to make but it provides a level surface leaving no gaps between springs and avoids roll together. Each spring is allowed to move independently and therefore moulds to the shape of the body and adjusts to differing weights.

The Ritz mattress is upholstered with;

• Pure new wool - purest new merino wool provides warmth in winter and coolness in summer.
• Silk and soft white fibre - the silk provides extra softness, while the soft white fibre is a man made filling which is hypoallergenic and is beneficial at both the top and base of the mattress fillings.
• Bonded white fibre - a deeper soft white fibre layer offering resilience and comfort.

Also features two rows of hand side stiching, a hallmark of a quality bed and secures the border to the springs. This time consuming process allows a larger sleeping area right up to the edge.
