In recent filming of the popular BBC program DIY SOS: The Big Build, Leekes of Bilston joined with Nick Knowles and his team, helping to transform the home of a family in distress.

Joanne and Wayne Whitehouse live in nearby Dudley in the West Midlands with their three children Katie, 21, Ginny, 9, and Jack 7 – who all suffer developmental problems from the hereditary condition Fragile X Syndrome.

DIY SOS helped to complete the family’s aborted two-storey extension, allowing Ginny and Jack to enjoy their own bedrooms for the first time – complete with fantastic new storage divan beds donated by Leekes.

DIY SOS: The Big Build in Dudley is due to be broadcast in summer 2012.
