Now that your Christmas tree is perfectly adorned with glistening lights and baubles it’s time to think about your Christmas table essentials.
We have set out a guide to our top tips for preparing for the most important feast of the year.
🎄🎄🎄
1. Place settings
It may seem a simple task, but laying a table correctly is an art form in itself. Once you have decided on how many courses you will be serving, you can set about choosing the correct cutlery and tableware for each course along with their placement. Our tableware buying guide includes every place setting you could think of including glassware (hic)
2. Deciding on your theme
Some of us may have tableware that we only use for special occasions, like Christmas. No matter what tableware you decide to use, it’s important to select a colour theme. Many of us will stick with traditional festive colours such as red and golds or others may choose a more modern take that coordinates with the rest of their home furnishings and decor (even Christmas tree baubles) Simple white tableware can look really effective when boosted with pop of accent shades which can be easily added with placemats, napkins and crackers.
3. Choosing your centrepiece
Deciding on how elaborate to go with your centre piece will depend on how much space you will have left on your table once the place settings are laid and also how you’re planning to serve your dinner. If you’re limited on space, simple candle votives can look really effective and are an affordable option which can be placed around the table. Those of us who may have a larger table or fewer guests may choose a runner made of eucalyptus or cuts of pine trees. These centrepieces can be added to with pine cones, holly and even mistletoe as well as battery operated fairy lights for added sparkle.
4. Be prepared
We all know how hectic a Christmas morning can be so we recommend laying your table to night before to give yourself a head start. That way you’ll know it will be perfect for your festive feast.
We hope you have found our tips helpful.
Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
