The highly anticipated collection is here! Designer, author, and star of Escape to the Chateau, Angel Strawbridge, has launched her first soft furnishings and wallpaper collection. The range includes curtains, cushions and bedding. Likewise, each collection has been inspired by hidden treasures and the surroundings of her extravagant home, Chateau de la Motte Husson with a clear influence by her love for all things quirky and vintage.
Angel created The Heron Collection after she was inspired by the moat surrounding her chateau. Her home is surrounded by wildlife which is a complete contrast to her life before France, where she lived with the hustle and bustle of busy London. She was inspired by a heron which perches every morning on a rock to eat fish from the moat. In conclusion, the bird represents a noble and graceful appearance and a sign of purity.
Overall, this is a colourful and vibrant collection, all of which are real statement pieces. If you are a lover of all things art deco, vintage and nature, this is the one for you. In fact, this collection features three designs: Heron on the Moat; Deco Heron; Lilypad.
Angel and her husband, Dick Strawbridge, were thrilled to find a bamboo plantation behind their garden, which is what inspired this design. She particularly loves the forms of bamboo as well as its symbol of virtue in Chinese culture.
Ultimately, this beautiful collection is both elegant and stylish and is perfect for any modern vintage inspired home. The collection features two designs which are steeped in oriental influence: Bamboo; Blossom & Butterfly.
If you have seen Escape to the Chateau you will recognise this print. When Angel first moved into the chateau she found an armoire full of wallpaper cutoffs that had previously decorated the walls. Thus, she decided to turn these cutoffs into a whole new wallpaper design which now features in her home, and now can feature in yours. The eclectic mix of wallpaper designs from times gone by create a fabulous eye-catching pattern which she has turned into bedding, cushions and a lampshade. Henceforth, if you want to feel a bit of the Chateau’s history in your own home, this is the collection for you.
This collection is a mix of both Dick and Angel’s passions as well as both the Chateau and its grounds. The former servant’s quarter overlooks the Potagerie in the walled garden. As the garden flourished, the view from the window became even more spectacular, so much so that the quarter was named the Potagerie Suite. Drawing on the view, Dick’s love of the kitchen garden and old flowery wallpaper from the room, Angel created the Potagerie design. It features shapes and items from the garden such as carrots and bees and includes a spray of flowers taken from older designs. This is a natural and fun design which is sure to be a best buy.
The Deco Collection is an elegant and glamorous range whose design is influenced by the Art Deco era. Angel has used a lot of Art Deco pieces and design whilst creating her own home. This collection allows you to bring a bit of the Chateau’s glamour to your own home. The designs have a modern touch so you can have the glitz and glamour of the era with a contemporary twist.
Indeed, the Chateau Collection is designed with love and tells a story of discovery. So, the inspiration will bring a magical charm to your home. This collection features three prints: Blakely; Broadway; Rene (not stocked at Leekes).
