National BBQ Week

National BBQ week is fast approaching and is happening for an amazing 23rd time! From the 27th May to 2nd June households, pubs, restaurants and everyone in between will be encouraged to dust off their barbeques and embrace outdoor cooking. This week is not just about enjoying delicious bbq food, but also about spending quality time with your family and friends. To make sure you are ready and prepared for the week-long event we have created a quick list of the must-have items.

Our recent post about BBQ technology is where you will find a guide on the different types of BBQ's available and how to best use them. If you feel like you need to polish up on your barbeque skills and knowledge, have a quick read of it first.

Barbeques range from charcoal to gas to electric and from wheels to no wheels. The type you decide to go for is totally dependant on the amount of space you have available.

The Char-Broil Convective 410 Gas Barbeque offers a quick and easy cooking option with space for plenty of food to be cooked at the same time. Gas cookers allow you to control the heat efficiently so your food can be cooked just right.Char-Broil also offer the fabulous Big Easy Smoker. This machine lets you smoke, roast and grill all in one. If you are wanting to show off all your barbequing skills, this is the one for you.

Charcoal is the more traditional way to heat a barbeque. We love the Weber Master Touch BBQ. Set with 2 wheels it is easy to manoeuver around your garden so you can place it where you like.

Of course, now that you have the main attraction, you need the accessories and equipment to go with it.

Tools will be your best friend and will make grilling so much easier. Spatulas, tongs and skewers are definitely a must-have.  Try this 3 piece set from Weber which includes the 3 most important tools. A savvy space saving tip: invest in BBQ storage hooks which clip on the side. Your tools will be easy to reach without getting in the way of the cooking.

Other useful tools to show off your skills and get your BBQ ready are:

  • Rotisserie
  • BBQ Grill Brush
  • Dry Tray

Have a look at our BBQ accessory page for our complete accessory collection.

Fancy trying something other than sausages and beef burgers? Have a go at a few of our recipes which will definitely be crowd pleasers.

This week may be focused on the bbq but to make it a real summer occasion go all out on the drinks and music too. Try a few of our drinks recipes to impress your guests even more. This year we are loving the Aperol SpritzPeach Sangria and the Watermelon and mint cooler.

So grab your family and friends and get cooking with this national BBQ event. Our fingers are crossed for the weather!
