Introducing ReBorn: The eco-friendly homeware collection now available at Leekes Melksham

In a world increasingly aware of environmental impacts, a new brand, ReBorn is leading the way to a more sustainable future. This innovative homeware company is revolutionising how we view waste by transforming discarded materials into stylish and practical home essentials. Made in Melksham, Wiltshire, and now available at Leekes, ReBorn offers an eco-friendly alternative to the homeware items we use every day.

Made in Melksham: Where it all began

ReBorn products are designed and crafted in Melksham, Wiltshire, a town known for its strong industrial heritage and skilled craftsmanship. This local manufacturing process not only supports British jobs but also minimises the brand’s carbon footprint by keeping production close to home. By staying rooted in Melksham, ReBorn combines modern design innovation with traditional British craftsmanship to create products that are built to last.

A fresh take on waste

Have you ever thought about the origins of the everyday household items you buy? Most likely, these products were made from virgin plastic in factories and shipped to the UK, leaving behind a heavy carbon footprint. From dish drainers to coat hangers, they often contain mixed materials that can’t be recycled, eventually ending up in landfills.

ReBorn aims to change that. Partnering with Biffa, the UK’s leading waste management company, ReBorn uses industrial waste, mainly discarded food packaging from British factories, as raw material. The waste is then recycled and transformed into durable, functional homewares which reduces the need for virgin plastics and slashes carbon emissions by 67%, compared to traditional manufacturing methods.

Circular by design

What sets ReBorn apart is its commitment to sustainability at every stage of the product lifecycle. ReBorn products are not only reusable, repairable, and recyclable but also designed to be space efficient and long lasting. Each item in the range has been carefully crafted based on extensive consumer research to ensure that it brings both style and functionality into homes.

ReBorn Founder Brian Walmsley commented, “Nearly 70 million homeware items are discarded in the UK annually, many destined for landfills. Through ReBorn, we’ve created a solution, beautiful homewares made from recycled waste that don’t compromise on style or function.”

A win for the environment and local economy

By manufacturing everything in the UK and sourcing recycled materials locally, ReBorn eliminates the environmental toll of international shipping. Every step of the process, from production to packaging, supports local industries, contributing to both economic and environmental sustainability.

Phil Goodier, Managing Director of Biffa Polymers, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, “We’re thrilled to collaborate with ReBorn on this innovative range. By using recycled polypropylene from our facility in Redcar, we’re helping to close the loop on plastic waste.”
