But waste not, want not - find our favourite leftover turkey recipes below, to make sure you are getting the most out of your festive meat this year.
Fresh Turkey Salad
If you are still stuffed from the almighty feast the day before, why not use your leftovers to create the perfect seasonal salad? Ideal for a health boxing day lunch - just throw the ingredients into a bowl and serve up. (photographed above)
Turkey and Vegetable Pie
Create perfectly puffed, belly warming pie with our super easy leftover recipe.
Simply add leftover vegetables to a pan with butter and heat until golden. Stir in the turkey, double cream and turkey stock and leave to simmer, seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
Add the mixture to a baking tray before lying the puff pastry over the top and glazing with an egg. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden and crispy.

Add vegetables into a pan with olive oil and leave to cook for 10 minutes. Add cream and cheese, stirring to avoid curdling. Leave to simmer on a low heat before adding the cooked pasta and parsley. Ensure all the pasta is covered and serve hot.

For this recipe, add vegetables to a pan of melted butter and stock and leave to simmer until the ingredients are soft. Transfer mixture to a blender and purée. Return the mixture to the pan and blend together the flour and milk. Combine both mixtures and leave to simmer on a low heat. Add salt and pepper to taste and garnish with parsley to finish.
