How do you think working at Leekes has developed your career?

“I have felt fully supported by the whole team and have had fantastic opportunities to complete courses and learn from others. Through the coaching and mentoring from others I have developed and gained new skills and the confidence to succeed in different roles that I wouldn’t have considered when I first joined.”

Why did you choose to work for Leekes?

I started working for the Julian Charles Bedding Concession when an opportunity came to work on the fire studio with better job security. It was a stopgap that became permanent and I can’t imagine working anywhere else.

What aspect of your role do you enjoy the most?

Getting to know our customers and helping colleagues reach their targets.

What’s your biggest achievement to date working for Leekes?

Employee of the Year 2019, Completing am ILM in leadership and management, department manager promotion, and my unit manager promotion.

What is your team environment like? Tell us what you enjoy the most

I have never not wanted to come to work. The whole of the Crosshands team are fantastic to work with. There is a really good team spirit where colleagues are often helping in roles outside their job description making us feel like one big team. Each day we laugh and have fun together whilst working towards our daily goals and commitments.

What would you say to someone thinking of applying for a role at Leekes?

Absolutely do it! This was meant to be a stop-gap for a few months for me whilst I found another job in early years education – however, I’m still here because Leekes is such a lovely company to work for. I have always felt valued.
