How has your role developed over time?

“It develops with how much effort you put in. The more effort you put in, the more knowledge you gain and this in turn increases confidence when selling. Leekes and our suppliers provide continuous product training, as kitchen styles and technology is always changing. This has also helped me become the top kitchen sales person across all stores for a number of years – something that I am very proud of.”

Why did you choose to work for Leekes?

I didn’t have a job and my mum texted me to say Leekes were having an employment open day so I went along, and here I am 16 years later.

What aspect of your role do you enjoy the most?

The design element of the role plays a huge part in what I enjoy, and working with the customers to create their vision. I spend a lot of time with customers on projects and like to document the entire kitchen cycle from start to finish. The more involved I am with the process, the more I understand and this helps me to achieve better results.

What’s your biggest achievement to date working for Leekes?

Hitting over £1 million in kitchen sales within a year.

How do you think working for Leekes has developed your career?

It’s given me invaluable confidence in all forms of life not just my working life.

What would you say to someone thinking of applying for a role at Leekes?

Do it. Great family-run company, with family values, and they will give you time to grow and progress.
