  1. How will I use my conservatory?
Think carefully about your conservatory’s design – your lifestyle will determine what type you will need and where it’s going to be located in the home. Will it be a dining room next to the kitchen? A play room or sun lounge off the living room? Or perhaps an all-weather extension to the garden at the back of the house?
Deciding upon its day to day use is essential in determining not only the size but also the style, layout and finish.
  2. How will my conservatory look?
Maybe you’d like a traditional Victorian conservatory or Edwardian conservatory, or perhaps you’d prefer the more contemporary shapes of a glass veranda, orangery or tiled roof conservatory. It’s vital to establish which conservatory design you want – and how much outside space it should take up.
At Leekes, your dedicated conservatory designer can create the space you need, in the shape of your choice.
  3. What colour will my conservatory be?
The colour of your conservatory is no longer limited to the classic white uPVC style. At Leekes, we offer wooden conservatories, or they can be designed in a variety of colours – from a hardwood-effect Woodgrain to soft green, blue and red foil tones.
  4. Where will my conservatory face?
Bear in mind where your conservatory is to be situated geographically. West and south-facing conservatories will receive more sunlight, particularly in the evening, and so may overheat in the summer without ventilation or blinds.
If you’re planning a conservatory facing north or east, it may be advisable to consider effective insulation and heating to use all year round.
  5. Which conservatory doors and roofs do I want?
Tell us how you’d like to cover your conservatory, and we can recommend the right roof for you. We fit A-rated energy efficient glass as standard, but also offer other roofing options.
Choose from: Pilkington’s Active self cleaning glass; polycarbonate roofing; mock tiles; tiled roofing or Ultraframe Classic Plus windows with integrated roof blinds.
You can also combine your home and garden with our choice of conservatory doors. From traditional patio sliding doors and French doors to modern bi-fold doors which can really open up your space.
  6. Do I need planning permission for my conservatory?
It is essential to determine whether you need planning permission for building your new conservatory, but at Leekes our conservatories department will deal with the planning process on your behalf.
  7. Do I want to accessorise my conservatory?
It’s those finishing touches that truly make your house a home and you may wish to add your own unique look to your conservatory. We supply a variety of frames designed to complement the glazing features of your home, as well as stylish crystal bevels, stained glass features, leading and Georgian bars.
Inside your conservatory, you can add stylish indoor fascias, handles and sills.
  8. How can I ensure my conservatory is safe?
Our conservatory windows and doors include the latest security features with quality key operated multiple shootbolt locking systems for optimum safety and superb weather protection.
  9. Will my conservatory be energy efficient?
We offer A-rated energy efficient glass as standard in all Leekes conservatories, which retains warmth, and reduces condensation and fuel bills, allowing for a moderate temperature all year round.
  10. How will I pay for my conservatory?
If you’d like to invest in a conservatory but don’t have the lump sum, you can pay on our range of competitive finance options.
