Parasol bases are essential to keep your parasol grounded. It needs to be heavy enough to hold the weight of the parasol but also withstand weather conditions. Many choose to fill a parasol base with sand or water. We even boast options with wheels for easy transport this is great if you have a bigger garden and require easy mobility.

Is it better to have a light or dark garden parasol?

All of our parasols come with UV protection from the sun. Dark colours absorb UV rays better but our light options can reflect sun rays. Both will keep you shaded and protected from the sun. 

Should I close my sun umbrella for the garden when it rains or gets windy? 

Yes, closing your parasol in windy or wet conditions is strongly recommended to protect both the umbrella and the frame. Even garden umbrellas with bases can sway in the wind in adverse weather! Strong gusts and heavy rain can cause the fabric to deteriorate more quickly over time. Most parasols come with a water-resistant coating, but a purpose-made parasol cover is recommended.
