INSTANT BOILING WATER TAPS


As they say, a watched kettle never boils. With convenience becoming more and more important in our every day lives, stylish and practical solutions like boiling water taps are becoming a kitchen essential.

The average kettle takes roughly three minutes to boil and this may be too long for an avid coffee or tea drinker. This means that kettles can also be inefficient when it comes to energy consumption. There’s also the question over waste, if you overfill your kettle and replace your water each time you use it you’re likely to be using much more water than you need. Hot water taps don’t just have to be used for hot drinks either, they are great for steaming vegetables or cooking pasta in a rush.

Quooker boiling water taps are not only efficient, but very safe, built with a childproof handle and insulated sides that ensure that it never feels hot to touch. The water is boiling, but the flow is a fine spray rather than a solid jet, giving you plenty of time to get your hands out of harm’s way.

INSTANT HOT WATER

Whilst Quooker is one of the only taps on the market to achieve 100°C. There are other options which dispense water up to around 98°C, with many also having adjustable temperature settings.

If tea is your drink of choice, you may not want boiling water as higher temperatures are said to scald tea and change the flavour.

There are options from both Caple and Franke which provide alternatives to Quooker. A number of taps also not include hot and cold water so there is no need for a separate tap.

Quooker estimates that their taps cost just 3p per day to run. This will vary by tap, but it will work out cheaper than having to constantly boil a kettle and there is considerably less water waste.

CLUTTER FREE

The key to many modern kitchen styles is a clutter free work surface. The addition of a hot water taps means that you no longer need to have a kettle on a work surface.
