Ulyana Hammond was born in 1981 in St Petersburg, one of the most beautiful cities in Russia, renowned for its outstanding architecture. This was a great source of inspiration to her as she grew up to appreciate the historical riches around her.
Hammond's ingenious use of a raised image and the resulting shadow draw you right into the cool, calm seascape. Highlighted by the clean white of cottages and clouds, her palette mixes stormy greys and cool blues with gentle pastel yellows.
